Encore® brand plumbing fixtures by Component Hardware Group are provided with a unique value-added feature called SANIGUARD® antimicrobial product protection. This feature utilizes a patented, inorganic silver-ion technology to actively inhibit the growth of nonpublic health bacteria, molds and mildews that cause odors, staining and deterioration of the treated product surfaces, keeping them cleaner and fresher between routine cleanings.

Over time, as microbes come into contact with a SANIGUARD®-treated product surface, the silver-ion technology begins to inhibit their growth by hindering cell wall transmissions, disrupting cell metabolism and interfering with cellular reproduction, thereby preventing the microbes from ever reaching the destructive population needed to cause the odors, staining or degradation of the treated product surface.
